The Northland Arboretum in Baxter has a full Thursday: a morning Hiking Club walk, and tonight the first of three nights of the Arb’s Haunted Trail — a good fit for Brainerd Lakes families heading into MEA weekend.
Haunted Trail opens tonight
The Northland Arboretum’s Haunted Trail runs Thursday–Saturday, Oct. 15–17, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. each night at the Arboretum, 14250 Conservation Drive, Baxter. The Arb’s event page and the TicketSignup ticket page both list the three-night run.
According to the ticket page, one ticket covers a single walk through all three trail sections — Low Scare, High Scare and Insane High Scare. General Admission tickets are good only for the night you pick, while Fast Pass tickets work on any one of the three nights and use a quicker entry line. Tickets are nonrefundable. Concessions are sold at the start and end of the trail, and the event is the Arboretum’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
Hiking Club this morning
The Arb’s monthly Hiking Club meets today, Thursday, Oct. 15, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Northland Arboretum. It’s a relaxed, volunteer-led one-hour hike open to all experience levels, and new members are welcome. The hike is free for Arboretum members; non-members pay the usual $10 gate fee. Both the Arboretum and the Explore Brainerd Lakes calendar list the same time and pricing.
